Krispy Kreme Doughnuts are calling your name!

Friends of DeBakey PTO, you're invited to take part in the most delicious fundraiser of the year. By ordering a dozen (or two) original glazed doughnuts, 50% of the order will be donated back to DeBakey PTO to help offset expenses associated with field day activities, teacher appreciation events, club sports, HOSA competitions and many other ways your donations to the PTO help our school.

HOSA State Conference Results

This year's HOSA State Conference was an amazing experience for our participants! The 3-day event to place this past week in Round Rock at the Kalahari Resort.

DeBakey Captures 18 Awards at Texas State HOSA!

This past week, 42 of our DeBakey High School who qualified from Districts competed amongst more than 3300 students from across Texas. The conference included an opening ceremony, competitions and learning opportunities along with a closing ceremony with awards recognized. Subjects that students competed in included: Parliamentary Procedure, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Medical Law & Ethics, Biotechnology, Human Heredity, OSHA and Leadership.

DeBakey captured more than 18 awards at the closing ceremony!

Cherish and Emily smile before going into their Team Competition on Forensic Science. Our ladies captured 1st place!

Chase, Berscht, and Karlo were roommates and all captured awards during the State competition! Chase captured an award in Medical Law & Ethics, Berscht in Physics, and Karlo in Human Growth and Development.

DeBakey Captures 1st in their Division in Quiz Bowl Tournament

On Saturday, April 1st DeBakey High School had 4 teams (comprised of 19 total students) compete in the Cy-Fair High School April Fools Invitational Quiz Bowl. More than 13 other schools competed as well, bringing several teams to the tournament, and traveling as far as Round Rock to compete.

At the end of the tournament, an all day event, our DeBakey B team captured first place for their Division winning over such teams as Bellaire and Cy-Fair!

DeBakey's Quiz Bowl teams are relatively inexperienced, having just created the Quiz Bowl club this past school year so it is amazing that they are already capturing awards and being recognized! If you are unsure what Quiz Bowl is, it is a quiz-based competition that tests players on a wide variety of academic subjects. Thank you to Mr. Stigant, as the club sponsor, and his support and encouragement with our DeBakey students! DeBakey Viper Proud!

The DeBakey B Team that captured 1st place in their division at the Cy-Fair Quiz Bowl Tournament included from left to right Jiya, Siddarth, Nigel, Chase and Kevin.

Chase holds the team plaque which will be displayed for a short period in Mr. Stigant's math room until it finds its final resting place at DeBakey!

Volunteer with the Houston Health Dept

HHD is a full-service health department that performs many enhanced functions to address health inequities.

Their services benefit all Houston residents, but we also take additional steps to support those most in need, such as low-income mothers and children, the elderly, and minority populations.We are a full-service health department that performs many enhanced functions to address health inequities.

Poetry Cafe - Apr 15

Attention students and teachers! Come showcase your artistic talents at this year's Poetry Cafe! Come ready to perform your spoken word, vocal or instrumental interpretations. Signup closes on April 4th, so be sure to fill out the Google Form before then.
