Excellence is Expected in how our students are educated

At HISD, Excellence is Expected...in how our students are educated, how we all work together, and how we serve our communities.

As we wrap up the year, we celebrate the Greatness Graduated at HISD. From our incredible students to our outstanding teachers and principals to our incredible support teams and, of course, our devoted families, we have seen remarkable achievements this school year.

Follow along for more stories on what the promise of an HISD education can and will deliver. Learn more about 2024 graduation here.

HISD is investing in our teachers

HISD is investing in our teachers. As part of its reimagined employee compensation plan, HISD is raising salaries for Special Education teachers in all campuses. In the 2024-2025 school year, the minimum salary for a Special Education teacher will be $80,000. At NES campuses, that number will be $86,000. Read more here.
