Uniform Sales

We have several parents interested in learning more about upcoming uniform sales. We will have more information soon as we finalize details about sales as well as opportunities to help volunteer during in-person sales days (Aug 15-20). This will also include opportunities for your students to gain some extra volunteer hours.

Volleyball Social and Rice/UT Exhibition Game - 08.20.2022

We will be hosting a volleyball social at the Rice/UT Exhibition game at 1PM on 08.20.2022. Tickets to the game are just $5. Learn more at riceowls.com/debakey.. Everyone is welcome to attend.

REMINDER: Class of 2023 Senior Photos

To appear in the 2023 senior section, you must be photographed with Prestige Portraits. They will be on campus on Aug.11 & Aug.12.

If you are unable to make the campus dates, please call 1-877-244-9873 to schedule at our Sugarland studio.

50th Anniversary Celebration - Latest Updates


As you may know, Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions will turn 50-years old this year.  Since its inception in 1972, DeBakey HSHP has maintained its mission and core values and continues to be an institution that produces high performing, college-ready students.  We will celebrate this momentous occasion in October 2022 at the Health Museum of Houston.  A silent auction will be held that evening, and we are asking our community for donations.

If you have access to a good or service that you would like to donate towards the silent auction in October, please click on the link below and complete the Google form. We are also accepting monetary donations via the form as well.

Class of 2026 Viper Camp - Donations Needed!


On August 3rd and 4th, the school will be hosting our Class of 2026 students for Viper Camp 2022. This event gives incoming students a chance to learn more about the school, get to know other students and get a preview of extracurricular activities held at DeBakey.


If you would like to donate snacks and/or bottled water for the students, items can be dropped off at the front office, Mon-Thurs from 8AM-4PM. Please let the front office know the donations are for Viper Camp.

Summer Assignments Reminder


Please remind your students to check the Summer Assignments 2022 Webpage to ensure they have their work completed before the start of the school year.

VIPS - Volunteers in Public Schools

Don't forget to renew your VIPS registration for the upcoming school year. VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) should be renewed each year.

By serving as a mentor, tutor, chaperone, and role model you are supporting HISD students, parents, and the future generations of the Houston community. Your work has special significance for our school communities and can be life-changing for our students.
