Back to School!!!

Students, I hope your Thanksgiving break was filled with food, family, and fun! But tomorrow, December 1st all students are expected to report back to school.
Let’s shake off that turkey coma, dive back into learning, and make these final weeks count!
It’s a C day, you'll visit all your classes, but remember you should not have any major assignments or assessments. Also remember that it’s the end of the semester so it's time to shift gears to make a strong finish.

Mr. Herrera, Principal

Progress Reports Go Home This Friday!!!

This week students will begin the second half of cycle 3 and progress reports and those will be going home this Friday, December 6th. Remember that Progress Reports are like a snapshot of your child's progress thus far. Students not earning at least a 70 may be assigned to a mid-day tutorial to help support them for the remainder of the cycle. Check HISD Connect for real-time progress of your child's academic progress.

Ms. Niaves, registrar or Your child's teacher for specific grades

Don't Forget to Sign the Personal Graduation Plans!!!

Class of 2028 parents please sign your child’s Personal Graduation Plan through Schoolinks no later than tomorrow, December 2. Additional information will be included in the follow-up email.

Troubleshooting Guardian Account Creation

HISD is not utilizing claim codes for guardian accounts which is why it states that the codes are expired.

The guardian has to go to app.schoolinks.com, select the reset their password button, and use the e-mail the district already has provided to set a password.

Schedule Changes for Next Semester - Use Google Form

Those of you interested in schedule changes for next semester, listen carefully. The Google Form for Spring Semester Course Requests will be available tomorrow, December 2, 2024. The link to the form will be emailed to all students by lunchtime. We recommend students complete the form with their parents by their said or at least discuss their options. The form may only be filled out once and editing or changes are not allowed. The deadline is this Friday, December 6th at 2:00pm. If you have any questions, please contact your counselor before submitting the Google Form. Additional information will be included with the email to follow.

Students may NOT request to move to HADV/PRE-AP/AP level courses. Students may only request to move OUT of HADV/Pre-AP/AP courses. Note any requests will change your original schedule.

Keep in mind that your schedule will change/shift with any request made and approved. This means you may not have the same teachers and class periods as your original schedule.

**Request to move to another teacher or class period will not be honored.

Students will be allowed to submit ONE request and cannot edit once the form is submitted.

  • Students must be logged into their HISD Google account to access the form
  • Students will receive a confirmation email within 15 minutes of submitting the Google form
  • If you do not see the confirmation in your inbox, check your junk mail or spam
  • Still don't see the confirmation email, try submitting it again or contact your counselor ASAP

Requests MUST be submitted no later than DECEMBER 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm. NO EXCEPTIONS!

The DEADLINE ensures the counselors have schedules ready for the first day of the new semester.

Reminder: Student Volunteer Requirements

REMINDER:  Every DeBakey student must have at least 100 community service to graduate with a DeBakey diploma.
